Pennsylvania Convention Center Expansion
Location
Philadelphia, PA
Square Footage
878,455 sq. ft.
Architect
Vitetta
Sustainability
LEED Gold
The 878,455 SF expansion project nearly doubled the size of Pennsylvania Convention Center. The construction included a new main entrance prominently positioned under a two-story trellis along and a dramatic glass façade along Broad Street. Like the original structure, the expansion is clad in cast stone, metal panels, brick, limestone and granite. A combination of poured-in-place waffle slab and steel frame construction supports the long span trusses of the divisible Exhibit Hall, the largest contiguous exhibition space in the Northeast. This project was awarded a LEED GOLD Certification by USGBC.
