Perryman Building and Construction Service’s safety culture begins with commitment from the top down and creates a culture that not only controls costs, but also creates an environment to protect our workers from injury.

Our first line supervisors are our front-line defense against safety problems. By providing them with incentive programs that are based on a comparison of each individual’s performance with all other job sites, our employees are empowered, and trained, to ensure safe performance and compliance with company procedures and OSHA regulations.

Our Policy

It is the policy of our company to perform work in the safest manner possible consistent with good construction practices. To fulfill the requirements of this policy, an organized and effective safety program must be carried out at each location where work is performed.

The Safety Program

Perryman Building and Construction Services’ safety program entails all aspects of safety awareness from general policies, safety rules and practices to job-specific training, starting at the pre-construction stage. Our program is described in full in our Safety Manual, which is issued to all Project Managers and Project Superintendents. General safety rules are reiterated in our Safety Manual, which is issued to every employee of the company.

Tailoring Safety to Each Site

The safety program is customized based on the needs/hazards of each jobsite. The jobsite safety is monitored by an on-site Safety Committee, which reports to the job Superintendent. The Superintendent provides a safety audit to the Project Manager and the Safety Manager. The Safety Manager reviews all safety committee reports and safety audits and performs periodic, on-site, safety inspections.

Insurance Company Oversight

Our insurance company has a Safety Engineer who visits and inspects each of our jobsites on a monthly basis. We work closely with our insurance carrier to develop and apply new techniques and programs designed to improve safety awareness and performance.

Incentive Program

Perryman Building and Construction Services also provides a safety incentive and accountability program for both its management personnel and craftspeople. An annual bonus program for Superintendents and an incident-free token program for craftspeople allow each member at the job site accountability and responsibility for safe performance.
